Questions About Fees or Billing
-
Fees generally range from $180–$200 USD per session, depending on the type and length of service. Sliding-scale fees may be available for consultation and mentoring services and are discussed and agreed upon in advance.
-
For psychotherapy services, I am currently an in-network provider with Cigna and Medicaid and may provide out-of-network documentation when applicable. Coverage and reimbursement vary by insurance plan, and clients are responsible for understanding their individual insurance benefits, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Clinical clients receive additional practice policies, informed consent documents, and financial agreements through the secure client portal before beginning services.
-
Statements and superbills can be provided as needed. If you would like a Good Faith Estimate or have questions about fees, insurance, superbills, or payment arrangements, please contact me before your appointment.

1. Individual Services, Consultations & Mentoring fees
-
Psychotherapy services are generally billed after the service has been provided through the secure SimplePractice client portal. Clients receiving psychotherapy services review and sign a separate Informed Consent and Financial Agreement before services begin.
-
Payment may be made by cash, check, major credit card, HSA, Wise, Venmo, or PayPal, as applicable to the service provided. Payments made through Wise or another payment processor are in U.S. dollars (USD) unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.
-
Consultation, mentoring, and other professional services may occasionally be paid directly through Wise or another payment method. The service, fee, and any applicable payment arrangements will be agreed upon before the service is provided.
2. Payment
-
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
-
For private-pay and commercially insured clients, appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments, may be charged at the full agreed-upon session fee. Insurance generally does not cover late-cancellation or no-show fees.
-
Different requirements may apply to Medicaid clients in accordance with applicable regulations and insurance requirements. Specific financial and cancellation terms applicable to psychotherapy clients are provided in the Informed Consent and Financial Agreement completed before services begin.
3. Cancellation Policy
-
Because individual psychotherapy, consultation, and mentoring are professional services generally paid after they have been provided, payments for completed services are normally non-refundable.
-
If you believe you were charged incorrectly, charged for a service that was not provided, or otherwise believe a refund is warranted, please contact Jorba Counseling. Billing errors and appropriate refund requests will be reviewed individually, and approved refunds will generally be returned through the original payment method when possible.
-
Any advance payment for a service that Jorba Counseling cancels or is unable to provide will be refunded in full, unless the payment is transferred by mutual agreement to another service or appointment.
4. Refund Policy
Please contact me before your appointment if you have questions about fees, payment methods, insurance, superbills, sliding-scale availability, cancellation policies, or would like a Good Faith Estimate.
